--Cyber Sprite Game Manual--

The difference between trial and official version :

You can only play the first and second stage.
The Gallery and Ranking mode is not open.
Startup weapon level is different in Free Play mode.



--System requirements--

This game can run under Windows and Linux.
This game supports 3 languages: English, Traditional Chinese, and Japanese. You can change language setting in the game.

System (Windows) Windows 7 or newer, 32 or 64 bit
System (Linux) Ubuntu 16.04 or distributions at the same period, or newer versions.
Required packages:
  gtk2.0, OpenAL, libmpg123, zenity
Require 32 bit version if the system is 64 bit.

Require Traditional Chinese and Japanese fonts to display these languages.
RAM 80MB
Free Disk Space 35MB (Official version size)
Video Card Support OpenGL 2.0. Device driver install is required.
  Intel 965GM or newer
  nVidia GeForce FX 5xxx or newer
  ATI Radeon 9500+ or newer, all Radeon HD series

Method to Run :
On Windows run cybersprite_trial.exe, on Linux run cybersprite_trial

Game will create save files as shown below(no filename extension). If you want to delete the game record, simply delete those files.

clearstate : Record for stage clearing and gallery

The save files can be used in the official version.



--Control--

Use keyboard or joystick. Defaults are shown as below.

Screenshots will auto save as 0000.png, 0001.png...... If the file name already exist, will avoid same name automatically.



--Story--

They are the sprites who help master to finish the works in the cyber world. They are “Cyber Sprite”.

Player control Cyber Sprite (programming language), with Master (Programmer) do the mission together such as discover, arrange data, and correct error.
Although setting is like this, the game play is like regular STGs: Dodge enemy attack and beat the enemy. Defeat the boss to clear the stage.
If you wonder why Cyber Sprite need to attack enemy in the computer... Enjoy the game!



--Main Menu--


Story : Stage by stage form the first stage. Three difficulties and three characters can be chosen.
Free Play : You can play the stage which you have entered in Story mode. (Enter the stage is ok, no need to clear the stage. Records of different difficulties and characters are separately saved.)
Gallery : Document, Art work, Music Listening. Unlock them by collecting items in the game. (Not available in trial version)
Ranking : Ranking for Story mode. Date format is “yyyy/mm/dd”. (Not available in trial version)
Option : System setting.
Exit : Leave game.



--Game Screen--


Status bar description
BACKUP : Back up data. Represent Cyber Sprite's vitality.
VERSION : Software version. Represents the weapon level. Maximum is 4.00.
SCORE : Score.
ITEM : Special items, can stock up to three. Push the item button will use from the left side. See blow for detailed description.

Instead of extra lives in many games, this game is based on vitality. Once get hit the BACKUP will reduce. If BACKUP reduces under 0 the game is over.
Hitting the terrain will not damage Cyber Sprite. She takes damage only when gets clamped.
Notice : The game record and gallery will be saved only when game over or beating the game. It will not be saved if you return to title during the game.


Suspend Save : In Story mode if you leave during the game (Game over, return to title, or shut down the game directly). Next time you can play from the previous stage.
Starting a new game in Story mode will delete previous suspend save.



--Items--

Items are placed somewhere in the stage, or drop from specific enemies.

Small version update. VERSION+5
Big version update. VERSION+50
Small backup data. BACKUP+5
Big backup data. BACKUP+50

Below are special items that can save you from pinch. In default push C or button 3 to use.
Catch Exception. A shield can absorb attack once and still for a while.
Garbage Collection. Eliminate enemy bullets and cause weak damage. Invincible short time after using this item.
Break Point. Time stop. The Cyber Sprite still can move and attack during the pause.

Gallery Item. Get this to unlock items in Gallery mode.
Gallery mode is not available in trial version, but the record is still be saved.

If you get a backup item when BACKUP=400, get an update version when VERSION=4.00, or get a special item when you have three special items, you will have extra score. The difficulty more high, the score also more.
Some special items will change to another one in period. You can wait until it changes to what you want and gets it.
You will have a special item in the beginning when you play "Free play" or retry after game over.



--Game Tips--

Study and remember carefully where the enemy will show up. Shot the place where the enemy will show up before it shows. Or avoid the danger in advance.

The keyboard is not easy to control. Also, there is some button cannot push at the same time. To play by joystick is recommended.

The main character can turn around to shoot backward, so the stage design includes many enemies come from the back. Precaution your back.

The action of the boss have regular pattern. Please watch carefully and find out how to deal with it.

Try to finish the game for the first time. Use the special item once you in the dangerous situation. Don’t take the Gallery item priority. Find out the better way to do that later.
