Introduction:
If your game’s save path contains double-byte characters (such as those used in Japanese or Korean), your controller will not work properly. (SteamVR will not run if double-byte characters are present)
Therefore, please replace any double-byte characters in the save path to English letters.

Bad example:
C:\エロゲ置き場\ErogeHontai → This path includes double-byte characters (エロゲ置き場), which will cause issues.
↓
Good example:
C:\ErogeStorage\ErogeHontai → The file name at the root of C:\ drive (ErogeStorage) contains no double-byte characters, so it should be okay for now!

[During startup, if the controller doesn’t work or can't be moved]

Move the game folder to the C:\ drive root directory.

(It seems SteamVR does not run unless the game is installed in the C:\ root directory and the game’s save path contains no double-byte characters such as Japanese or Korean.)

[During startup, if touching the canvas doesn’t start an adult scene]

Move the game folder to the C:\ drive root directory.

(It seems SteamVR does not run unless the game is installed in the C:\ drive root directory and the game’s save path contains no double-byte characters such as Japanese or Korean.)

[Problems arise with games saved on D:\ drive]

It seems that SteamVR sometimes fails to recognize the game in D:\ drive, even when starting from the D:\ drive root directory.

Therefore, if you are experiencing bugs, please try moving the game folder to the C:\ drive root directory.

[Addendum: Troubleshooting guide (A repost of workarounds from around 2023. Make proper backups!)]

Although rare, users have reported cases where the controller buttons are unresponsive despite the game folder being placed in the C:\ drive root directory (and the save path containing no double-byte characters).
This issue seems to occur after a SteamVR update.
If you run into this problem, doing a clean reinstall of SteamVR using the steps below may fix it.

1. Completely exit Steam and SteamVR.
2. Manually delete the following three files. (Just in case, make backups first)
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR\resources\settings\default.vrsettings
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config\steamvr.vrsettings
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\config\lighthouse\lighthousedb.json
3. Uninstall SteamVR from your Steam Library.
After that, if any SteamVR-related folders remain in the location below, delete them all manually. (Again, make backups first, just in case.)
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SteamVR
4. Finally, reinstall SteamVR.
