Boss Tips (WARNING: Contains Spoilers)
This page contains information regarding what weapons and tactics
are effective against the various bosses in Trigger Happy.
It contains SPOILERS!!! If you don't want spoilers, don't read any further.
Bulletdie
Recommended Weapon: RF-35 (Assault Rifle)
Enemy Movement Pattern: Heads to the upper foothold and shoots.
After which, returns to the lower foothold. Repeats infinitely.
In order to land your attacks, you must use the footholds on the left side
and shoot at the same height that the enemy is located.
Bulletdie's bullets will take time to reach you,
so you should use that time to land as many of your own bullets as possible.
Don't get greedy though, otherwise you might find yourself with some new holes.
On HARD difficulty, the ammunition cartridges themselves can also cause damage.
In the above method, there is no need to get close to Bulletdie. However,
depending on the weapon you are using, it may be more efficient to get up and close.
If you are using a weapon designed for shorter range, please take care.
Tribeman Volgis
Recommended Weapon: Friendly Fire (Shotgun)
Enemy Movement Pattern: Kicks towards the edge of the screen and then,
after reaching the edge and dropping an apple, will throw the apple. Repeats infinitely.
As Volgis' body itself will cause damage on collision,
getting too close is dangerous but... his back is his blind spot.
No matter what Volgis does, if you are behind him, you are safe.
On HARD difficulty, the thrown apples will drop from above on the edge of the stage.
So just being behind Volgis is no longer safe. Also, his attack strength is greatly increased.
You will need to take care to avoid all forms of damage, including collisions.
Stardust
Recommended Weapon: Blue Star Six (Laser)
Enemy Movement Pattern: After warping nearby and reaching out with its arms,
it will warp into the sky and fire scatter shots in random directions.
After doing that, it will warp to the right edge of the screen and after some time
release a thunderbolt of electricity. Repeats infinitely.
Also note that; after Stardust warps, it leaves behind
a cloud of purple particles which will cause damage upon contact.
If you are using the Blue Star Six,
firing constantly while focusing on evading attacks is an effective tactic.
However, the scatter shots can require skilled maneuvering, so don't let your guard down.
If you are using any other weapon, your chance for attack will be when Stardust
is on the right edge of the screen before releasing the lightning bolt.
The scatter shots are hard to evade and the arm attack is very powerful. Take care.
On HARD difficulty, small balls of electricity are floating around the stage.
Not only do they cause damage, but their speed randomizes as Stardust's HP decreases.
In combination with the scatter shots, evasion timing will
become much more difficult and you may lose your rhythm.
You'll need to carefully observe their movement and evade without panicking.
Innocent Mother
Recommended Weapon: Blue Star Six (Laser)
Enemy Movement Pattern: Changes depending on whether you are on the ground
or in the air / on a foothold in the air.
When on the ground, the enemy will attack using tentacles from underground.
The tentacles come one after another, so you will need to keep moving non-stop.
When in the air, a shower of bullets which expand slowly in a circular motion will be fired
along with small bullets and large chunks of meat falling from the ceiling.
With an extremely wide area of effect, movement restrictions from the bullet shower
and things falling from the ceiling, you'll need to be on your feet and moving for this too.
There are 5 parts which you can deal damage to. They are yellow in color.
Attacking these parts alone will not cause the boss' HP gauge to decrease.
You must deal a certain amount of damage to destroy each yellow part.
Only when a part is destroyed will the boss take damage.
If you are using Blue Star Six, you can win just by shooting and dodging the ground tentacles.
For any other weapons, dealing damage evenly over the 5 parts and finishing the boss off quickly
will be the best way to avoid the boss' low HP enrage attack and safely win.
On HARD difficulty, while there may not be any additional attacks,
the boss' attack strength is much higher, so you will need to take care.
Arsha
Recommended Weapon: King's Fire
Enemy Movement Pattern:
1) Broken Arrow (A dark arrow with a random speed which explodes after a set distance.)
2) Bullet Eater (A square barrier that reflects your bullets.)
3) Dead Curse (A curse which decreases your movement speed.)
4) Shadow Familiar (A bat that slowly moves towards you at the same altitude.)
5) Broken Arrow (Refer to 1.)
6) Joker (A dark hand appears above your head and will strike down after a set time.)
7) Icicle Fall (Sharp chunks of ice will fall from above.)
After performing 1~7, Arsha will return to one of the steps.
e.g. 1>2>3>4>5>6>7 returns to 3 >4>5>6>7 returns to 5 >6>7 (so on so forth).
As such, if you know how to avoid each of the attacks, then it shouldn't be too hard.
All you need to do is learn and repeat the same evasion tactics over and over again.
An explanation on how to avoid each attack is provided below.
Broken Arrow: Jump over it.
Bullet Eater: Stop attacking.
Dead Curse: Cannot be avoided, you must increase you avoiding reflexes.
Shadow Familiar: Draw it in then jump over it / fall down from a high place past it.
Joker: Crouch.
Icicle Fall: Move left and right.
When Arsha's HP goes below a certain point, her behavior will change.
She will continue 1~7 repeatedly and each of her moves will become more advanced.
Broken Arrow: Lines up 3 vertically and shoots 4 in total.
Bullet Eater: Lasts for a longer time (all the way to Shadow Familiar).
Shadow Familiar: Releases 4 bats. After releasing the 4th, Bullet Eater will end.
Joker: A dark hand will also appear below you. It strikes after the one above you does.
Icicle Fall: The number of ice chunks and their area of effect will increase.
With the above changes, so to do some avoidance methods change.
Shadow Familiar: Get close to Arsha before Dead Curse and hunker down there the whole time.
Joker: After crouching to avoid the hand above, jump to avoid the hand below.
Overall, Arsha's attacks are ferocious and relentless.
Nonetheless, you will need to attack with every chance you get.
If you are equipped with King's Fire, consecutive close range attacks
will deal a huge amount of damage efficiently.
For any other weapons, you will need to focus
on avoiding her attacks and pecking away at her HP.
In the second half of the fight, Arsha's attack pattern becomes fixed,
so if you memorize her movement, you should be able to land your attacks efficiently.
On HARD difficulty, while Arsha does not have any new attacks,
the Attack Strength of all her attacks are increased, so you will need to take care.
